OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION
The listener shouldn’t look for any comedy during listening this record. The title, Cabaret Nord is controversial;
´Cabaret´ in this case means an intimate and personal space for an imaginary performance, expressed with a musical language that turns and twists, and often memes certain styles and attitudes of electronic music, with a pinch of grotesque or surreal approach. ´Nord´– on the other hands nods to dimming the lights around, taking the edge off, tightening the tangible space with the sole purpose of manipulating the listener. The border between fiction and reality becomes blurry, playing around with tension to the point where cabaret turns to the theatre, and rhymes turn to rhythm. The result is a phenomenon that sounds undefinable; it’s a form of music that feels like some kind of otherworldly ritual, an easing noir, a rhythmical poetry in motion.
“I made a promise, that I will elevate this defiled and humiliated cabaret to the level of the appreciated arts.” – Endre Nagy, 1908. (Master of ceremonies, who reformed and raised the ordinary cabaret to the genre of literature in Budapest at the beginning of 19th century).
This is almost the same that I try to do since many years with the ´defiled and humiliated´style of techno. Cabaret Nord is part of the mission.
